Tripps is a decent passer, but he is an average defender. I’d give KWP a run in the side at right back. Hugo needs replacing, but he’s teachers pet so Poch won’t do it.

Most of our players look hesitant and uncertain in possession and don’t attack with any real pace, confidence or ideas.

The movement overall is poor. It’s like they are schooled in a positional system and fear departing from that.

Clearly the full backs are designated throw in takers, so we delay them until they have the ball in hand, by which time the opposition have had time to get into shape and pick up their men. We struggle to retain possession from our own throws!

I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with you, it’s just that I genuinely think it’s simply a matter of time before we click.

  • UnkleTaff 06/10/2018 at 5:57 pm

It’s bizarre to think that if City and Liverpool play out a draw tomorrow (a highly probably outcome) we will be just two points off the top of the table by the end of the week…

From what I’ve read Shatner was expecting to be the one and only star in ST. He was pissed off with the popularity of Nimoy and sharing the story lines with Spock, Bones and Scotty et al. Dunno if it was all true but I could well imagine.

                    • 61 Spurs Nut 🌰 07/10/2018 at 11:16 am

It all kicked off when Nimoy got much more fan mail than him back in the 60s. He couldn’t compete with the green-blooded pointy-eared hobgoblin.

Spock was a great character. Kirk was just John Wayne in a space ship.

Seeing some of the early episodes again, Spock wasn’t quite the unemotional stoic as his character later developed. He was quite loud and shouty.

  • Gdawg 07/10/2018 at 4:16 am

Jeez we were poor. After the early score promised a flood of goals we descended into lethargy and Cardiff had plenty of chances to share the points, with 11 and 10 men. 3 points are 3 points though

    • Chauvelin 07/10/2018 at 10:32 am

Two things: we got 3 points. The squad was so depleted we started Sissoko, and with the best will in the world, what was his role/purpose yesterday? In effect we played with ten men until his substitution.

      • Chauvelin 07/10/2018 at 10:36 am

Hopefully, and it seems to be a big hope, we’ll have a couple back for our crucial match at PSV; saying that I suspect Sissoko will play at West Ham to make up the numbers again and save the legs of others. Not expecting us to win against the Spammers because Pochettino will be focussed on PSV.

      • SpurAndy πŸ₯§πŸ’ 07/10/2018 at 10:36 am

My guess is he’s the muscle to stop Cardiff doing a Watford on us. He’s the security that stops fans getting near the celeb when they get out of the car. Wanyama would be my preference but maybe he over exerted himself against Barca.

What a disjointed game again… I dont get it…terrible passing again out of defence..its like nobody knows what to do with the ball….Sanchez that way again the biggest culprit. I mean how many passes does it take to get out of the first third???????
The Good,The Bad and the Ugly.
The Good certainly was Winks,he looked more mature than most and unlike most didnt look anxiety ridden. His passes were crisp and quick even if they werent earth shattering. I thought he was our best player.
Moura too had a go and showed brilliance in face of not having too many other players with the same kind of energy. He tried to beat one too many at times but what the hell most of the others were asleep.
Son was terrible. When he is bad he is bad.
Dier was ok in this one even without the goal. I also liked Roses energy,he has a go and is generally getting better even though . For me he owns the position now. Trippier wasnt so bad,but not so good either. His heady England days are gone for now.
Not having Eriksen or Dele hurt but i do think that Winks was
better than Dembele would have been as his game has gone down recently.
All in all we got 3 points but were much less than convincing. We looke closer to a mid table side even if Poch lauds our position.
I think he has to look at parts of his system as the problem. Its hard to see but our passing out of defence being mediocre the same week in week out has not been addressed by the genius, shows a sample of something he cant get right (or fails to see it at all)
70% possession gives us a false reading of our superiority if thats what you want to call it

    • SpurAndy πŸ₯§πŸ’ 07/10/2018 at 12:05 pm

    • Chauvelin 07/10/2018 at 12:12 pm

There was one depressing passage of play when ten man Cardiff hemmed our defenders from playing the ball out for what seemed minutes. Plus when the ball was knocked long they won most of the 50 50s.

      • Ronwol1960-61πŸ•Žβš½πŸŽ·πŸŽ₯ 07/10/2018 at 12:19 pm

Yes andthis is not a one off. This happens nearly every game. Poch is a fcucking genius where is he with this???????
Sanchez has regressed. Toby is not the best passer in the world. Really nonsense going back and forth. Verts is better. But Poch seems to think that passession is better than getting the ball down quickly. I cant believe though how many medium size and longer balls do go to opposition players when we do kick further. Its uncanny. If we fcucking tried to hit the opposition maybe we would occasionally hit one of ours. Terrible.

        • GDawg 07/10/2018 at 12:24 pm

Winks made a couple of nice breaks down field in the second half, only to pass it back towards halfway. He wasn’t the only one

Winks was our best player nevertheless. He did a lot more right than most. Our team looked disjointed. The 3 pts was a lie

  • 89Spurs πŸ‘ 07/10/2018 at 12:09 pm

Unfortunately, Ron you didn’t mention the biggest culprit. Which was Sissoko, its a shame that there is little cohesion between his feet and his brain.

    • Ronwol1960-61πŸ•Žβš½πŸŽ·πŸŽ₯ 07/10/2018 at 12:14 pm

Sissoko is an easy mark. He didnt ask to come to Tottenham. He didnt pay 30 mil to come to Tottenham,we did. He wasnt our worse player.Apart from his now knowing who to pass to and not passing more than 5 yards he worked hard and ran more thn any other player. Its not his fault. He doesnt have the talent but he doesnt bother me one bit.Its all the geniuses that I expect a lot more from

      • Caspurs 07/10/2018 at 12:17 pm
